Arden’s forecasting process begins with analyzing and predicting consumer demand. The forecast team collaborates with several groups including marketing, design, sales and our retail customers to determine sales forecasts. In addition, this team consults with customers on replenishment strategies to ensure inventory is in the right place at the right time for their end consumers.

The production planning group manages over a dozen manufacturing sites worldwide. The planning team works closely with both domestic operations and our Asia office to orchestrate a plan that balances manufacturing and shifting consumer requirements.

Arden’s Global Logistics Team focuses on shipment for all Arden customers, internal and external. We have experts in North American Customs regulations, Asian Customs regulations, North American domestic trucking and parcel shipments, and international freight shipments. As a global manufacturer, our capabilities to ship around the world any time and via any mode are needed 24/7. We have a best in class team who understands the intricacies of shipping across borders, meeting critical timelines, and moving freight by ocean, air, truck, or train.

The world’s leading Enterprise Resource Planning tool is currently being implemented at Arden to help streamline our entire planning and production process. SAP will support the complexity of our global supply chain and the rising needs tomorrow’s business will demand.

Our Fort Wayne facility celebrated 10 Years Without a Lost Time Accident (over 2,350,000 hours worked). Balloons decorated the factory and the employees were treated to a catered lunch and plenty of cake. Plant Manager, Gary Furlow, accepted a trophy on behalf of all Fort Wayne team members to honor their daily dedication to plant safety. In addition, a sign has been placed on the corner of Piper and Airport Drives (Arden Property) commemorating this milestone and encouraging continued participation from all those who pass by.

We also recently celebrated 12 years without a lost time accident at our Kendallville, IN plant. Plant Manager, Lisa Julius, was presented with a plaque in honor of her dedication to Arden’s safety initiative.This serves as an example of the safety practices that stretch across all Arden facilities.

Zach Doll at Fort Wayne is a member of Arden’s GPS Team. In an effort to dispose of scrap fabric and find a use for it rather than simply throwing it away, Zach reached out to local Goodwill Centers and the Salvation Army to see if they would be interested. They agreed to take it all!! He then shared this with the other Plant GPS members and Rancho followed their lead and is also giving their scrap fabric to the Salvation army. As Zach says, “It’s the little ideas as well as the big that can help us become more sustainable as a company.”

On September 14th, Arden celebrated its annual Chairman’s Award and Plant Manager Dinner at the Skyline Club in Southfield, MI. The dinner is held every year to honor the attendees for all their hard work and to recognize their “above and beyond” achievements. The Safety Award was presented to Ft. Wayne on September 12th, in honor of their extraordinary execution of safety practices during the year.

Bob Sachs (Chairman) opened the speeches with the following quote: “If you think something is more important than a customer…then think again!!” This quote shows Arden’s dedication to the customer and each of this year’s Chairman Award recipients practices this dedication on a daily basis. Each of the winners was introduced and given a plaque honoring their achievement along with a gift of $1,000. Each gave a very touching speech, filled with laughter, tears, and gracious “Thank You’s” to co-workers and family.

The Product Engineering Team is stationed at Arden’s Sanford, NC manufacturing facility. They focus on bringing innovative products to market through collaboration with our retailers and other supply chain partners.

The engineers use a variety of testing machines and CAD equipment to carefully design and understand the best way to produce Arden’s outdoor products. By utilizing LEAN manufacturing principles, they have focused on reducing overproduction and carefully engineering products to maximize efficiency both from a manufacturing and a raw material resource standpoint.

Arden’s Non-Woven Poly team has a heavy focus on producing the highest quality polyfill in the outdoor market, used in our Arden Replacement Cushions. They use rigorous testing protocols and have even designed their own advanced testing equipment to ensure current and future products meet customer expectations.

Arden has established strong partnerships with the leading universities in textile development, such as NC State College of Textiles, to research and develop cost-effective and more environmentally-friendly forms of cushion fill. Arden is currently using recycled poly fibers for its fill and is developing even more advanced alternatives, while continuing to focus on comfort, support, and durability.

In the beginning, and still today, Arden is a manufacturing company. We focus on producing quality products that people can enjoy outdoors. Arden’s expert manufacturing team works dilligently to perfect the techniques of sewing, filling, finishing, and shipping products to our retail customers.

South Central Operations

Arden began operations in Amarillo in 1995 as part of our expansion in the outdoor products category. Our Amarillo facility covers 200,000 square feet and is conveniently located on the grounds of the Amarillo International Airport. The Amarillo facility has been operating for 4 years without a lost time accident, which greatly demonstrates Arden’s commitment to safety.

Amarillo is the largest city in the Texas Panhandle and is home to industries such as copper refining, fiberglass production, meat packing, weapons disassembly, customer service operations and aircraft assembly. Midwest Operations

Fort Wayne operations began in 1985, the same year we acquired our facility in California. Fort Wayne is centrally located in the Midwest to service the central United States and Canada. The Fort Wayne complex is our largest US facility encompassing 330,000 square feet across several buildings. This year, our Fort Wayne facility celebrated 10 years without a lost time accident.

Fort Wayne is Indiana’s second largest city and boasts a wide array of activities including theater, restaurants, and many outdoor activities. Midwest Operations

Arden began operations in Kendallville in 1983 producing cleaning aid products. Today, our 65,000 square foot facility is dedicated to producing outdoor products. Kendallville is one of our facilities that cuts fabric, sews, and finishes Arden’s outdoor cushions. They have been operating for 12 years without a lost time accident. East Coast Operations

Asia Office

Arden opened its office in China in 2004. It is located in Shenzhen, the business hub of South China, approximately 30 minutes from the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. Our Shenzhen Representative Office is comprised of a strong international staff of over 30 employees.

Our China team oversees operations at 7 cut-and-sew facilities located in mainland China. They support direct import programs with our retailers, provide assistance with testing protocol and audits, and oversee capacity and production progress at the cut-and-sew facilities. Our team members at the China office play a vital role in Arden’s supply chain and make sure that we are producing quality products “On-Time, Complete, and Correct.”

Taiwan Office

Arden expanded its Asia Operations in early 2011 by opening an office in Taipei, Taiwan. Currently, there are 5 full-time employees working in this location. Taipei is the largest city in Taiwan and is home to a bustling network of businesses, restaurants, and entertainment.

The goal of the Taiwan team is to work with Arden’s fabric suppliers to ensure quality and timeliness of production, season after season. They work directly with the printing, weaving, dying, and finishing mills, to ensure we are meeting all quality standards and deadlines for production schedules. The addition of the Taiwan office is just one more factor that differentiates Arden from its competitors. Our involvement in the Global Supply Chain goes all the way to the yarns and dyes that go into our outdoor products. Arden takes great pride in this involvement and the value it adds for our customers.
