Description

We’re looking for a creative and organized individual to help us bring unique designs and performance fabrics to market. We offer an exciting, entry-level position on our design team with the opportunity for future growth. The candidate for this role is interested in both the creative and business sides of the design process. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, a knack navigating technical systems, and an interest in design.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creating new woven tracking numbers and entering information into PLM system
  • Creating woven development requests in NED Graphics and in Powerpoint
  • Organizing the woven library, yarn binders and retailer swatches
  • Emailing communications related to woven development, approvals/rejections, and revisions
  • Documenting all hand samples in PLM system by scanning fabric, labeling, creating initial record and updating existing records
  • Photographing all new approved yarn coupons and preparing files for uploading into PLM
  • Preparing woven samples for customer meetings: cut, finish, and label
  • Assisting with print and pattern design as needed
  • Possible traveling to meet with customers and collaborate design direction

 

Requirements

  • Degree Requirements
    • A B.A. or B.S.; preferably in textile design, fiber development or fine art
  • Other Requirements
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and ask questions to clarify a path forward (solutions oriented!)
    • An eye for design and an interest in color theory
    • Basic understanding of PowerPoint and Excel

 

New Hire Training

  • Textile science; print manufacturing processes, patterns, colorways and repeats, etc.
  • Print and woven manufacturing processes and technology
  • NED Graphics Textile Design Software
  • Photoshop for creation of jpegs and mapping
