Description

Arden Companies, a growing Bingham Farms, Michigan based leading manufacturer and distributor of Patio and Outdoor Lifestyle products to the leading retailers in the USA and Canada, has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist to be based at the Sanford plant, in Sanford, NC.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager of E-Commerce, the Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the H.R. administrative duties.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports all plant safety policies and procedures. Active member of the Sanford plant safety committee. Completes periodic safety rounds.
  • Participates in new hire orientation, compliance training (fire/tornado drills, etc.), coordinates with H R Manager drug-testing, health fair, employee appreciation day, employee raffles, lunches and other various activities.
  • Facilitates the completion of accident, injury and near miss reporting.
  • Keeps MSDS log up to date.
  • Maintains personnel, benefits, training files, vendor certifications of liability and workers compensation injury reports / logs in specified Excel spreadsheets and/or in Arden ADP HRIS. Compiles reports from database.
  • Keeps HR forms and employee bulletin boards up to date.
  • Performs recruiting, new hire, terminations and the seasonal lay-off processes in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employees and organizations outside the company
  • Bilingual English and Spanish supports employee communication from day to day, training, and translation of company documents including the company wide quarterly newsletter. Help desk for those with general HR questions.
  • Coordinates GPS (Greener Path Solutions) data collection, data entry, activities.
  • Ability to become certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, BBP and provide first aid to employees when necessary.
  • Initiates employee status changes
  • Coordinates employee notices, monthly safety topics.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resource, Business, or similar field of study required, SPHR or PHR preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience required.
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Working knowledge of policy/procedure, WC, LOA, Benefits Administration, etc.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
