Description

This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for coordinating daily production requirements, supervising and leading a high-volume production area.

This position will oversee all aspects of production. You are responsible for a safe work environment. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, e.g. planning, operations, sales, and financial teams is critical to achieve these objectives. This position will be responsible for continually driving process improvements in the above functional areas.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage
    • Improvement, implementation, support and promotion of all Safety policies, programs and 5s initiatives to ensure the safety of all employees.
    • Resources to effectively define and execute a production plan from a provided production schedule. Manage manufacturing activities for specific product lines to achieve the plan.
    • Personnel, including determining staffing needs and performance feedback while ensuring that such practices conform to ethical and legal standards.
    • Manage levels of raw materials, WIP inventory, finished goods and control and reduce scrap.
    • Oversee Production Leads to effectively execute the defined production plan – On Time, Complete and Correct.
  • Assess
    • Quality standards to ensure quality of products meet company and retailer quality requirements by regularly monitoring and confirming desired results are achieved.
    • Monitor production flow to ensure production is meeting targets in pieces and earned hours.
    • Equipment and departmental needs, repairs and maintenance.
  • Administer
    • Leadership guidance/training to foster a highly productive working environment.
    • Strong communication at all levels of the organization.
    • New ideas and drive problem solving initiatives with focus on continuous improvement and lean culture.
  • Maintain
    • Correspondence, records and logs.
    • Build and maintain employee, business and community relationships beneficial to the health and growth of the plant and the company.
  • Support
    • Perform all duties as assigned. Promote, support and participate in all company policies, procedures and programs.
    • Plant management to ensure the plant is safely meeting production schedules, inventory targets, and customer quality requirements.
    • Quality team, leverage for guidance to resolve quality issues quickly, but Production Supervisor manages the correction process, including the communication to the production team and any retraining of team to prevent re-occurrence.
    • Generate and analyze manufacturing reports and communication.
  • Coordinate
    • Serves as plant advocate working with cross functional teams in other facilities and the corporate office to execute initiatives with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Training
    • Assist in training programs and initiatives for the continued growth of personnel to meet future company goals.
    • Promote, support and participate in all company policies, procedures and programs.

 

Requirements: Abilites/Skill for Essential Functions

  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and lean methodology.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement in all area such as safety, productivity, quality, raw material utilization, operating costs, and delivery.
  • Proven strong communication skills required. Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Data Savvy – Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experienced with generating reports.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate accuracy in work, attention to detail, ability to execute quickly, and organizational skills.
  • Motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes in a high volume manufacturing plant.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
  • Minimal travel to other Arden facilities or related businesses may be required.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of production experience in high volume manufacturing plant.
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
