Arden Companies, based in Bingham Farms Michigan, is a leading manufacturer of Outdoor Cushions and Pillows to the dominant retailers in the USA and Canada and has an exciting ex-pat opportunity for a Director, Global Sourcing and Asia Operations.

Located at our Shenzhen, China office, the Director, Global Sourcing and Asia Operations reports to the VP of PD and International Operations. This role is responsible for collaborating with our US Home Office team to lead our Asia Operations in overseeing production, quality, new sourcing and product development. In this role, the candidate will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and execute all programs on time, complete, and correct. Success in this position will require flexibility, endurance, team leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems with innovative solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead cross-functional teams in Production Planning, Master Data, Quality, Audit, Logistics, PD, Sourcing
• Manage the internal services needed to support the Asia offices including HR, Administration, Finance, and IT.
• Manage the supplier base to meet production demands
• Collaborate with the US team to maintain support services and build new services for future business growth.
• Build and maintain internal processes and training programs
• Provide professional travel planning and travel support services for visitors.
• Acting US representative in Asia.
• Promotes a cooperative work culture, maximizing productivity and moral within the Asia office
• Uses engagement strategies to recognize, motivate and celebrate individuals and teams delivering outstanding performance
• Manage P&L and finances.

Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience with fabric or soft-lines manufacturing, design, or engineering preferred.
• Experience in US retail relations, merchandising, or consumer product development preferred.
• Min. 5 Years in International Sourcing, Operations, or Product Development.
• Experience in: Process Improvement, Purchasing, Quality, P&L, Logistics and Team Building.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to both internal and external audiences.
• Well versed in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel. Experience with PLM software or SAP a plus.
• Must be willing to live internationally, travel roughly 30%.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required.
