An excellent opportunity for an emerging HR leader…

Actively manage the administrative duties for the plant including but not limited to; Payroll, HRIS, Recruiting & Plant Events, Supports Basic Talent Management Functions; attendance, training, translation, participates in select committees, supports the recruiting, on-boarding and orientation process, while completing the associated paperwork and participates or leads special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, team player, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while still driving results and managing the day-to-day demands of the position. A strong desire to serve others and inner drive to succeed are also required.

  • Our schedule is Monday – Friday, 7am – 5:30pm during peak production and 7am to 5:30pm Monday – Thursday in our off-peak season.
  • Diverse mix of employees, spread across 2 local facilities, approximately 120 employees during peak season.
  • We are traditional at heart, but learning to be more progressive – ideas welcome!
  • This position is based in Fort Wayne, IN – regular travel outside the state is not expected for this role
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations; completing daily routine employee transactions.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees, with support of HR Manager and Plant Manager.
  • Manages expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports, and delivering results.
  • Proactively partners with plant and corporate leaders and the HR team ensuring compliance with company policies and mandates, recommending modifications as needed.
  • Accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; proactively exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.
  • Protects rights of employees and organization by keeping confidential information confidential.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Supports payroll function and HRIS management.

 

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; preferably in the field of Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in HR experience in a manufacturing environment is required; experience in distribution or textile environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, implementation, and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of core Human Resource competencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to quickly learn other computer software as needed. (e.g. ADP WFN, Carrier Sites, etc).
