Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for internal focused inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Lead problem solving activities and continuous improvement efforts as it relates to customer satisfaction and quality improvement.
- Provide support for Customer focused routine and surprise audits, inspection, testing, and evaluation in collaboration with the Engineering, Quality, Compliance and Production teams.
- Maintain an awareness of product quality improvement opportunities and aid in evaluating potential solutions/ideas.
Work Flow
- Partner with plant(s) to map current work flow with the intent to improve work flow over time.
- Develop and maintain operator work instructions.
- Maintain and manage extensive network of resources (quality, lab, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Help us create a Continuous Improvement program; identify areas for automation and provide guidance, sourcing, ROI on potential equipment modifications or purchases.
- Participate in, lead, facilitate, and communicate production continuous improvements through Lean Initiatives such as, Kaizen, Value Analysis, Kanban, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, Standardized Work, and other such activities.
- Drive corrective action process for the production team, including the creation of action plans and ensuring effective resolution to key production team projects and quality issues.
- Seek opportunities to implement cost reduction strategies and work with plant leadership to develop cost avoidance plans with and without prompting.
Product Development
- Support and actively participate in the process for new product launch.
