Arden Companies, a leading manufacturer and distributor of outdoor patio consumer products, has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
We are searching for experienced professionals with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a proven track record of success to join our leadership team as part of our leadership development program.
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for coordinating daily production requirements in all areas of production, supervising and leading a high-volume production areas with a mix of new and experienced team members. There are a lot of opportunities to own processes and drive results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise hourly employees in designated departments to effectively execute the defined production plan on time.
- Support plant management to ensure the department is safely meeting production schedules, inventory targets, and customer quality requirements.
- Manage levels of raw materials, WIP inventory, finished goods, and control and reduce scrap for the department.
- Partner with plant and corporate level team members to proactively support problem-solving, continuous improvement, and lean activities.
Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Skills:
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of manager experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Data Savvy – familiar with using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems for creating production plans.
- Proven communication skills with all levels of the organization; we’re looking for a people motivator with a coaching style.
- Must demonstrate accuracy in work, attention to detail, ability to execute quickly
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of production processes in high-volume manufacturing.
