Description

The Production Planner/Scheduler will report to the Senior Director of Supply Chain and will be responsible for managing, preparing and maintaining production schedules for our Fort Wayne, Indiana production facility, managing raw material and shipment flow, reviewing incoming orders, while working to build strong relationships with corporate and plant teams at various levels. The right candidate should have a passion for consumer products manufacturing, the drive to succeed in our high-performance culture, and the flexibility to travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana at least twice each month.

Responsibilities

  • Determine production priorities utilizing production plan, customer forecast and sales order requirements and ERP system-driven planning reports (SAP).
  • Take full ownership/management of:
    • Scheduling daily Production Plan for the Fort Wayne facility.
    • Establish smart, coordinated schedules throughout the plant.
    • Detailed weekly plant capacity management, including actual performance and production outlook.
    • Function as the communication link between Corporate teams and the Fort Wayne plant.
    • Review daily orders for multiple retailers, each with their own unique considerations.
    • Manage inventory to reallocate/balance distribution of raw materials/partially or fully finished product to ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
    • Prepare plans and alternative strategies to meet program timelines.
  • Coordinate and communicate across multiple internal departments to problem solve and manage complex manufacturing and planning issues.
  • Optimize material flow into the Ft Wayne facility to ensure efficient production planning and 100% on time, complete and correct fulfillment and shipment of orders.

  • Develop and document new and improved processes and planning methodologies.
  • Build and apply new analytical tools, audit and progress reports.
  • Support strategic system analytics.
  • Support other aspects of domestic or international planning as opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical, business or other related discipline required (Supply Chain, Production Management/Planning, Management, Manufacturing Technology, or Engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Production Planning role at a plant or corporate level.
  • Experience in manufacturing for a retail or seasonal business a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and planning production using ERP tools; preferably SAP.
  • Power User in Microsoft Excel; v-lookups and pivots, formulas required.
  • Strong strategic, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to function in a team environment and to lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization, including an international audience required.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
