Description
The Shipping Lead position will be assigned specific work assignments that require individual attention to complete in an accurate and efficient manner. This person will lead activities of shipping personnel. They will also provide feedback to include any concerns or suggestions to improve safety, the work assignment(s), personnel, infrastructure, quality and product.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and organized shipping area.
- Lead shipping teams to accomplish safely on-time, complete, correct assignments.
- Actively looking for unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Ensure safety precautions are taken when mobile equipment is being operated.
- Effective communication skills.
- Responsible for picking and shipping finished product.
- Ensures the quality of FGs in the shipping process.
- Ability to work individually or with a group.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures. Report any employee or process concerns to Management.
- Follows and encourage all safety practices reporting any concerns to a Safety Team member or member of Management.
- Coordinate inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Assist with the training and transition of new or transferred employees.
- Ability to be certified to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to electric pallet jack, forklift, order picker.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Applicable job experience and knowledge
- Proven ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Forklift operator certification
- Proficient counting / math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Drivers License
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
- Must be able to lift >50 lbs., walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry.
